Once the project gets underway, the Cost Consultants keep well ahead of any proposed changes. The ‘Journal’ system ensures that any proposal likely to break the budget gets a full airing in good time for considered decisions to the taken. Detailed financial out-turn predictions are kept on a ‘running total’ basis for inspection at any time by the client or any member of the design team.
Meanwhile, Project Services keep on top of the programme and make sure that everyone knows what they have to do – and get a sharp reminder when they haven’t done it! They will also be helping the client to prepare for occupation, perhaps helping to choose ICT providers/systems.
The Facilities Consultancy team often get involved during this phase, helping the client to develop a facilities policy and strategies, setting annual budgets and, maybe, helping to recruit the right people for the ‘intelligent customer’ function which will take over once the building is in occupation.
